As Head of Agriculture, Adrian has responsibility for strategy and investment across Buccleuch’s extensive portfolio of farms, representing one of the largest privately-owned land holdings in the UK, extending to some 80,000 hectares in Southern Scotland and England. A member of Buccleuch’s Executive Committee he advises the wider Buccleuch estates in policy and estate development planning. Previously Adrian led the Barrington Park Estate farms, overseeing their transition to conservation farming, is a former manager with Velcourt and consultant with Andersons. He studied at the Royal Agricultural College School of Business and is a Fellow of the Institute of Agricultural Management. Adrian is a former speaker at TED Global and the Sustainable Food Trust.
Adrian Dolby
Dan Cohen joined Astanor in January 2024 as Venture Partner, based in New York.
He brings with him a long track record of management and investment experience. After starting his career serving the Israeli government and McKinsey & Co, Dan then served as Managing Director at John L. Thornton & Company, focusing on Asia. Later, at Quantum Pacific, he led key investments globally and held key roles in companies like Qoros Automotive and Better Place. Based in NYC, he managed Quantum Pacific’s venture arm, investing in innovative tech. He later joined Koenigsegg Automotive company in Sweden, where he was the Chairman of the Board.
Dan’s diverse expertise makes him a valuable asset to Astanor, where he brings his strategic vision to both venture and growth initiatives.Dan is married to Ronit, has two boys and a black lab.
Dan Cohen
Antoine joined Astanor as Legal and Compliance Manager in February 2021. Prior to Astanor, Antoine was a senior team member in the structuring and implementation department of one of the leading alternative investment fund services provider in Luxembourg. Antoine has a solid understanding of fund structuring, as well as legal and compliance specifications related to alternative investment fund managers.
Antoine Cuny
Prior to joining Astanor, Valerie was a founding team member at Almanac Insights, a New York-based agrifood impact investing firm focused on hospitality, CPG, and food system technology companies. There, she was responsible for sourcing and executing investments, as well as portfolio management.
Before Almanac, Valerie managed special projects at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, including the wastED pop-ups in New York and London and the launch of Blue Hill Yogurt, the brand’s first nationally distributed CPG product. She was also an early member of the team at LivingSocial, a pioneer in the online local marketplace for daily deals.
Valerie holds a B.A in International Studies from Middlebury College. She currently lives in San Francisco, CA.
Valerie Christy
Harry boasts a stellar career, starting at McKinsey and co-founding Firefly, a health drinks company that successfully exited to Private Equity. In 2009, he entered venture capital at Balderton in London and later became a founding partner at BGF Ventures, leading a £200M fund that backed 23 startups, including billion-euro companies like Paddle, Gousto, and Dice.
In 2018, Harry joined OMERS Ventures as Managing Partner, launching a €300M European fund. His team’s 25 investments, ranging from €5M-€20M, spotlighted successes like Deliverect (Belgium) and WeFox (Germany), now valued at over €1B. At OMERS, Harry pioneered ‘Signals,’ a software system globally adopted, and led DEI efforts for OMERS Europe, overseeing 150 individuals. Harry joined Astanor as Partner in January 2024.
Harry Briggs
Benoit has over 17 years’ experience as a private equity investor, M&A investment banker and strategy consultant across EMEA and Asia. He joined Astanor in 2024 in charge of the origination and execution of agrifoodtech growth equity investments. Prior to Astanor he worked for the food & ag focussed firm Cibus Capital where he was Investment Director for 3 years. He began to develop an expertise in agrifood while at AGIC Capital, the Asian/Europe buy-out fund ($2Bn AUM) since 2018,. He was involved in c. $300m of capital deployment, investing from $10 to $100m equity ticket. Prior to this, he was a M&A Investment Banker at Morgan Stanley, where he oversaw c $6bn of successful deals on both sell-side and buy-side mandates in the green / energy transition sectors. Benoitstarted his career as a strategy consultant. He speaks French, English, Mandarin and Russian and holds an MBA from London Business School.
Benoit Boisseuil
Yuhua joined Astanor in 2022 as an accounting officer. She completed a Master’s degree in Human Ecology in VUB and Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance in BI Norwegian Business School. She used to work as an accounting assistant in Black Dragon Group Europe in Oslo, Norway, and sales consultant in Travelex NV in Antwerp, Belgium. Her passion is cooking and eating healthy food, mitigating climate change and reaching sustainable development goals.
Yuhua Bai
Eric Archambeau is Founder and Managing Partner at Astanor, a global impact investing firm in the bioeconomy space. Astanor , that has grown to circa €1B AUM, invests in technology companies that accelerate the shift to a sustainable economy sector, initially starting in the agri-food space. Astanor flagship investments include Monarch Tractors and Plantible in the USA, as well as Ynsect, Aphea.bio, Source.ag and Umiami in Europe.
Eric has been a pioneer in the impact investing space for over a decade. He has served as Global Chairman of the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation, lectured at graduate business school INSEAD, where he founded the Social Entrepreneurship Department and co‐founded Social Impact International supporting livelihood development and regenerative agriculture programs in India. Eric is a board member of the Harvard Business School initiative , the International Foundation for Valuing Impacts (IFVI) in Boston and a past chairman of the Impact Investment arm of the UK Government’s NESTA program. He published in 2022 a book, Costing the Earth: How to Fix Finance to Save the Planet, outlining how to overhaul finance to achieve net-zero.
Prior to Astanor Eric was a Silicon Valley entrepreneur then a technology venture capitalist, investing in the likes of Spotify (IPO), Onfido, XING (IPO), PriceMinister (now Rakuten Europe), Betfair (IPO), Nosto, Maven Clinic, Peakon and Freenow (Daimler). Eric holds graduate degrees from UC Berkeley, Stanford University and Santa Clara University.

Nikolaj boasts a robust background in investment analysis and risk management, cultivated through roles at Nordic banks like Nordea and Danske, as well as at prominent financial institutions including Denmark’s ATP and Kirk Kapital, the family office of LEGO’s descendants. His experience spans public and private markets, encompassing tasks from valuing real estate to conducting economic analyses for asset allocation.
Holding an MSc in Finance and Investments from Copenhagen Business School, Nikolaj authored a thesis proposing changes to a regime-switching model. Passionate about sustainability, he actively promotes green initiatives both within student organizations and in professional settings, advocating for ESG principles. He joined Astanor in February 2024 as portfolio analyst.
